Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking a Safety Manager to lead a proactive safety program across our distribution operations in the United States. You will develop and implement safety initiatives, coach leaders and associates, and ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA and food safety standards across transportation, warehousing and distribution.

You will manage risk, drive continuous improvement, and foster a culture of safety with strong emphasis on training and incident investigations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of OSHA, DOT and EPA guidance and regulations.
• Ability to design and present training to small and large groups.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office 365).
• Ability to learn various custom software applications.
• Analyze data and produce corrective action plans to reduce injuries and accidents.
• Work schedule primarily normal office hours, with potential split shift and weekend work.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety programs and accident prevention strategies across OpCo.
• Cooperate with Transportation, Operations, Sales and HR to determine root causes and corrective actions.
• Oversee DOT/FMCSA compliance activities, including driver qualification files and vehicle inspections.
• Investigate incidents and drive corrective actions; manage post-accident procedures.
• Lead safety training initiatives for drivers and warehouse staff.
• Chair safety committees and drive safety culture initiatives.
• Support risk management, workers’ compensation and KPI reporting.
