Job summary

FedEx Logistics is seeking a Distribution Operations leader to direct and promote continuous improvement in Air & Ocean CFS, FTZ, and interdepartmental distribution. You will manage 1–15 staff, implement SOPs, ensure safety, maintain records, and communicate issues to management.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 year associates or college degree preferred/equivalent in business.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience in Distribution, Warehousing, Shipping, or International Freight Forwarding, or Transportation Industry.
• Strong knowledge of various International and Domestic Distribution Operational activities.
• Minimum 1 year leadership role required.
• Strong basic management, human relations, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of safety awareness within an operational division.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and control input, movement, process/sort, and output of operations to ensure high service and quality at minimal cost.
• Directly manage 1 to 15 direct reports and develop staff.
• Recommend improvements to workflow production and results.
• Implement FedEx SOPs and ensure adherence across the department.
• Provide daily desk-level oversight and hands-on training to staff.
• Communicate client problems, delays, or misroutes to management promptly.
• Develop and review costs for distribution operational activities.
• Advise on safety issues and equipment/building concerns.
• Maintain contact with customers regarding service levels.
• Oversee air export gateway operations in the absence of the gateway manager.
• Ensure proper handling and processing of cargo to meet carrier lockouts.
