Job summary

Airgas in Albany, NY is seeking a Distribution Manager to lead daily truck routing, vehicle maintenance, and driver safety while coordinating with Plant leadership to meet customer needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing or distribution operation.
• Minimum 2 years of demonstrated leadership experience in a distribution environment.
• Knowledge of truck routing, hazardous materials shipping, and applicable regulations (DOT, FDA).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; SAP preferred.
• Ability to read, analyze and communicate technical procedures and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor drivers; ensure safe work practices and availability of drivers and equipment.
• Manage distribution costs and optimize daily routes and service levels.
• Provide safety training and compliance with DOT, OSHA, FDA requirements.
• Develop SOPs; review DOT documentation, route efficiency, and orders.
• Prepare daily delivery schedules and load sheets; respond to inquiries from sales and branches.
