Job summary

OGE Energy Corp. is hiring a Distribution Lineman or a Distribution Lineman Apprentice to support installation, operation, repair and maintenance of overhead and underground distribution systems and related facilities.

The role involves working on distribution lines, substations, and street lighting to ensure reliable electric service for customers. The position requires climbing, lifting and working in varied weather, with formal Apprentice or Journeyman pathways, and a DOT-regulated safety

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 5 years progressive Lineman experience and completion of OGE Apprentice Program, or
• High School Diploma/GED with 1 year Journey Lineman experience. Apprentice options require tech credentials.
• Licenses include DOT/diesel or CDL-related certification per job postings.

Responsibilities

• Climb poles, set poles, string wire with equipment safely and efficiently.
• Perform substation and feeder switching and operate control devices.
• Use test equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot distribution systems.
• Construct and maintain overhead/underground distribution or transmission lines.
• Document events of damaged cables and related facilities.
