Job summary

OGE Energy Corporation is hiring for a Distribution Lineman or Distribution Lineman Apprentice in Oklahoma. The role covers installation, operation, repair, and maintenance of both overhead and underground distribution systems to ensure reliable electric service.

The position involves climbing, wiring, testing, switching, and working under SOPs with opportunities for progression through apprentice or journeyman tracks, all within a safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 5 years progressive Lineman experience with completion of OGE Apprentice Program, or
• High School Diploma/GED and 1 year of equivalent Journey Lineman experience (electric utility Journeyman cert).
• Associate's Degree in Electronics/Engineering Technology/Power Plant Operations/High Voltage, or
• Certificates in Electrical Power Technology/High Voltage or related Power Line Technology, plus HS Diploma/GED.
• Military service with DD214 plus utility line experience or HS Diploma/GED with utility line experience.

Responsibilities

• Climb poles, set poles and string wire with equipment in a safe, efficient manner.
• Perform substation and switching duties as feeder control devices.
• Operate various test equipment with high efficiency.
• Construct and maintain overhead/underground distribution or transmission systems per SOP.
• Investigate and document events of cut or damaged cable.
• All other duties as assigned.
