Job summary

Tampa Electric is seeking a Supervisor Distribution Design to lead the design and engineering teams responsible for lateral underground layouts, feeder hardening, and pole inspection programs. The role ensures designs meet codes, safety standards, and company policies while guiding project execution across multiple CPs.

Required are a high school diploma or GED with 10+ years of distribution design experience and a valid Florida driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ten years of distributed design experience in a utility context.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License with clean record.
• College degree may substitute for experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of design technicians, engineers, and designers to plan, design and engineer distribution system changes.
• Mentor team members in negotiations, project management, and safety compliance.
• Conduct job hazard analyses and contractor safety audits.
• Coordinate planning, resource allocation, and optimization for projects.
• Review CP invoices and contribute to budget planning and process improvements.
