Job summary

Tampa Electric, a TECO Energy company, is seeking a seasoned Supervisor Distribution Design to lead the design and engineering of distribution projects and manage a team of DDTs, DDEs, and CP Designers in Tampa, FL.

Responsibilities include overseeing safe design practices, budgeting, project forecasting, and contractor coordination for multi-million dollar changes to the distribution system. Storm duty and safety compliance are integral to the role.

Qualifications

• Minimum of ten years’ distribution design work experience.
• Valid Florida State Driver’s License with clean driving record.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the daily operations of the DDTs, DDEs, and CP Designer resources needed to plan, design and engineer $150 million (per annum) of changes to the electrical distribution system that serves existing customers.
• Mentor direct reports in negotiations, project management coordination, billing accuracy, engineering design, and construction aspects related to existing customer electrical loads impacting SPP projects on TEC’s distribution system.
• Conduct job hazard analyses and contractor compliance audits; coach employees and CPs to ensure safety procedures.
• Provide direction for planning, coordination and optimization of resources for SPP projects with CPs; coordinate ongoing efforts and implement changes as needed.
• Review and approve CP invoices and team expenses; contribute to the SPP business plan and annual budget; identify and develop new technologies and process improvements.
