Job summary

Tampa Electric is seeking a Supervisor of Distribution Design to lead a team of technicians and engineers overseeing distribution design projects. The role focuses on safe, compliant execution of LUG, FH, DWPR, and DWPI initiatives while managing contractor partners and internal staff.

Responsibilities include mentoring staff, ensuring safety, coordinating resources, and overseeing budgets and invoices. A strong background in design engineering and supervisory training is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED; Associate degree preferred.
• Minimum of ten years of distribution design work experience in progressively complex assignments.
• Must have completed Levels I–V of the Distribution Design Technician training curriculum or equivalent.
• College degree may be considered in lieu of some experience.
• Preferred: Supervisor Essentials Program or similar supervisory training and Lead DDT experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of DDTs, DDEs, and CP Designers, managing $150M per year of changes to the distribution system.
• Mentor direct reports in negotiations, project coordination, and budgeting; conduct performance reviews and development plans.
• Perform job hazard analyses and contractor safety audits; ensure compliance with safety procedures.
• Provide planning and resource coordination for SPP projects and CPs; implement changes as needed.
• Review CP invoices and team expenses; contribute to the SPP budget and identify process improvements.
