Job summary

Entergy in Louisiana is seeking an engineer to manage multiple distribution projects for new residential and commercial customers. You will meet with customers to determine service needs, design overhead and underground line extensions, estimate costs, prepare construction drawings, and coordinate construction commitments.

The role requires knowledge of distribution design standards, ability to lead meetings with stakeholders, and strong analytical skills for load studies and fault current

Qualifications

• Designer I: Bachelor’s degree (any discipline) OR 2-year technical AAS OR 1-year Electric Utility Distribution design experience OR >2 years of electric utility field ops.
• Designer II: 2 years Electric Utility Distribution Design experience AND (Bachelor’s degree OR 2-year AAS OR 2 additional years design experience OR >2 years field ops).
• Designer III: 4 years Electric Utility Distribution Design experience AND (Bachelor’s degree OR 2-year AAS OR 2 additional years design experience OR >2 years field ops).
• Designer Sr: 6 years Electric Utility Distribution Design experience AND (Bachelor’s degree OR 2-year AAS OR 2 additional years design experience OR >2 years field ops).

Responsibilities

• Meet with customers to determine service needs and requirements.
• Design overhead and underground line extensions.
• Estimate costs and prepare construction drawings.
• Coordinate pre-design and pre-construction meetings with stakeholders.
• Perform engineering calculations for planning and corrective projects (load studies, fault current, voltage drop).
• Support operations and ensure compliance with design standards.
