Job summary

Entergy is seeking a Distribution Designer I/II/Sr to determine electric needs, design distribution facilities, and support customer requests and reliability projects. Responsibilities include meeting with customers, designing overhead and underground extensions, estimating costs, and coordinating construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (any discipline) or 2-year Technical Associates degree.
• 1-year Electric Utility Distribution (or Transmission) Design experience OR > 2 years Electric Utility field operational experience.
• 2 additional years Electric Utility Distribution (or Transmission) Design experience for Designer II.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple distribution projects for new residential and commercial customers, including meetings to determine service needs and design of overhead/underground extensions.
• Coordinate and lead pre-design and pre-construction meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
• Perform engineering calculations to aid planning, such as load studies, fault current and voltage drop analyses.
• Provide leadership and technical support to operations and ensure compliance with design standards.
• Assist with ROW documents and permits with Right of Way.
• Support storm restoration efforts as needed.

Education

Bachelor's degree (any disciple)

2-year Technical Associates degree

1-year Electric Utility Distribution (or Transmission) Design experience

2+ years Electric Utility Distribution (or Transmission) Design experience
