Job summary

FirstEnergy is seeking a Distribution System Operations Supervisor in Greensburg, PA. You will oversee daily real-time activities at the Distribution Control Center, mentor staff, and coordinate field crews for safe operation and maintenance of the electrical distribution system.

You will ensure dispatch compliance, manage real-time system tools (ADMS, SCADA, DMS), and participate in performance reviews. Occasional storm duties and weekend work are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Associate of Engineering degree (Electrical preferred), with at least 3 years of related work experience, or a high school diploma with 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Related work experience includes line or substation field work, engineering experience, and military related or leadership experience.
• Demonstrated past leadership in operational supervision or dispatching job duties.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to process information in a timely and accurate manner.
• Ability to accurately perform analytical calculations such as voltage drops, transformer, and circuit loadings.
• Knowledge of the equipment and principles involved in the operation of all components of the electrical system required.
• Knowledge of FirstEnergy's information systems related to dispatching activities.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining a high level of safety commitment throughout day-to-day functions.
• Supervising activities including the direction of field crews in the operation and maintenance of the electrical distribution system.
• Ensuring compliance with appropriate policies and procedures for real-time dispatch operations.
• Supervising real-time utilization of ADMS, SCADA, and DMS for system analysis and contingency assessment.
• Conducting mid-year and year-end performance reviews with employees.
• Providing ongoing feedback and coaching on performance and development opportunities.
• Investigating reliability and safety conditions and incidents with cross-functional teams.
• Developing contingency plans for prioritizing restoration of service and storm response.
