Position Summary
The Distribution Center Supervisor is responsible for leading daily distribution center operations to ensure the safe, accurate, efficient, and timely movement of products. Reporting to the Director of Fulfillment, this role provides direct supervision to warehouse and distribution team members while supporting continuous-improvement initiatives, inventory accuracy, service-level performance, and operational excellence.
Job Duties
- 1.Supervise daily distribution center activities, including receiving, put-away, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control.
- 2.Lead, coach, train, and support distribution center employees to achieve productivity, quality, safety, and attendance expectations.
- 3.Assign labor and prioritize work to meet daily shipping schedules, receiving requirements, and customer service commitments.
- 4.Monitor key operational metrics, including order accuracy, labor productivity, inventory accuracy, on-time shipment performance, and safety results.
- 5.Ensure compliance with all company policies, standard operating procedures, and applicable safety regulations.
- 6.Conduct regular safety observations, address unsafe conditions and behaviors, and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- 7.Investigate and resolve operational issues related to inventory discrepancies, damaged product, shipment errors, equipment concerns, and workflow delays.
- 8.Partner with the Director of Fulfillment to implement process improvements, optimize labor deployment, and improve distribution network performance.
- 9.Maintain accurate operational records, including timekeeping, productivity reporting, incident documentation, and inventory-related transactions.
- 10.Coordinate with transportation, customer service, purchasing, manufacturing, and other internal teams to support efficient order fulfillment.
- 11.Participate in employee performance discussions, coaching, corrective action, recognition, and development planning.
- 12.Support peak-volume periods and operational changes, including schedule adjustments and overtime requirements as needed.
- 13.Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready distribution center environment.
- 14.Manage budgets, equipment, and facility maintenance

Requirements
Education
A high school diploma or GED is required. A military background, a community college degree, or trade school accreditation works as well for this position.
An undergraduate degree from an accredited college/university with a focus in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics or related discipline is encouraged . Years of experience, and proven knowledge, may offset the degree requirement.
Experience & Skills
- At least one year of experience leading, supervising, or directing hourly operations employees preferred.
- Knowledge of distribution center processes, inventory control practices, shipping and receiving, and warehouse safety standards. Oracle NetSuite knowledge a plus
- Experience working with warehouse management systems, inventory systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong leadership, communication, coaching, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven operational environment.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials as required and work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and physical activity.
- Demonstrated success in creating and sustaining a safe workplace
- Prior experience with Lean/5S principles and change management
- Ability to prioritize and organize responsibilities; ability to utilize key performance indicators and to hold self and others accountable
- Requires solid written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical, conceptual, and planning skills are required
- Excellent math and measurement skills are required
- Must successfully complete a criminal background check, physical, drug screen and E-verify
