Job summary

UNFI seeks an Environmental Health & Safety Partner to lead the EHS program at the Distribution Center. You will advise on safety strategies, reduce injury risk, and ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws while partnering with operations and HR.

You will develop training, analyze incident data, and implement standardized safety systems across the site, supporting a world-class safety culture and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Associates degree with EHS/risk mgmt or related field required.
• Bachelor’s preferred.
• ASP certification preferred.
• CSP/CIH or ISO 14001/45001 desirable.

Responsibilities

• Execute injury prevention programs to build safety culture and reduce injury risk.
• Identify hazards at site level and support incident investigations with root cause analysis.
• Analyze trends in injuries; develop training programs.
• Collaborate with operations, HR, claims, and security to manage EHS resources.
• Contribute to design of standardized safety systems, policies, training, and campaigns.
• Support environmental compliance and claims programs.
• Build internal and external alliances to implement EHS policies and processes.
• Perform other duties as required.
