Job summary

UNFI seeks an Environmental Health & Safety Partner at our Stockton distribution center to implement the company’s EHS strategy in a fast-paced environment. You will serve as the main advisor on EHS matters for site stakeholders and assist with developing, implementing and maintaining the EHS management system at the site.

You will lead injury prevention initiatives, identify hazards, perform root-cause investigations, analyze trends and train teams to reduce risk.

Qualifications

• Associates degree with major in EHS or risk management is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in EHS or risk management is preferred.
• ASP certification is preferred.
• CSP or CIH or other EHS certifications (ISO 14001/ISO 45001) are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Execute injury prevention programs to motivate and influence a world class safety culture.
• Identify hazards and support detailed incident investigations with root cause analyses.
• Analyze injury trends and develop training programs to reduce risk.
• Collaborate with operations, HR, claims and security to manage EHS resources and projects.
• Provide input on standardized safety systems, policies, training and programs to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Support environmental compliance and claims programs.
• Build internal and external alliances to develop and implement EHS policies and processes.
• Perform other duties as required.
