Job summary

UNFI is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Partner at the Distribution Center to lead the site EHS program, ensuring safe operations and advancing UNFI’s Do the Right Thing safety value. You will drive injury prevention, conduct root-cause analyses, develop training, and collaborate with operations, HR, and security to manage resources and ensure compliance.

Candidates should have 3+ years of EHS program management, relevant degrees, and industry certifications; travel may be required;

Qualifications

• Associates degree with major in EHS or related field is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in EHS or related field preferred.
• ASP certification is preferred.
• CSP/CIH or other EHS certifications are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Execute injury prevention programs to foster a world-class safety culture and minimize injury risk.
• Identify, assess, and control site-level hazards and assist with root-cause analyses.
• Analyze injury trends and develop training programs to reduce incidents.
• Collaborate with functional leaders to manage EHS resources, projects, and decisions.
• Contribute to the design of standardized safety systems, policies, and training to reduce risk and ensure compliance.
• Support environmental compliance and claims programs.
• Build internal and external alliances to implement EHS policies, programs, and processes.
• Perform other duties as required.
