Job summary

UNFI seeks a Sr. Manager, Environmental Health & Safety to lead a regional team of EHS leaders across multiple distribution centers. You will implement the EHS strategy, coach reports, and partner with operations, HR, claims and security to drive continuous improvement.

You will develop and maintain the EHS management system, monitor regulations, and design safety programs to reduce risk. Extensive travel to DCs is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in EHS, risk management or closely related field required.
• ASP certification required.
• CSP certification preferred.
• CIH or similar EHS certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversee strategic vision to achieve UNFI’s EHS strategy.
• Design and ensure execution of an EHS management system with annual plans, programs, audits, and reporting.
• Monitor laws/regulations and translate into applicable operational strategy.
• Develop standardized safety systems, policies, training and campaigns to reduce risk and ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with functional leaders to manage EHS resources, projects and decisions.
• Build internal and external alliances to implement EHS policies, procedures and training.
• Lead injury prevention programs to foster a world-class safety culture and minimize risk.
• Drive EHS metrics and communication to leadership; ensure accurate monthly reporting.
