Job summary

United Natural Foods, Inc. (UNFI) seeks an Environmental Health & Safety Partner at a California distribution center to execute the company’s EHS strategy in a fast-paced environment.

You will lead injury prevention programs, analyze hazards, and collaborate with operations, HR, claims, and security to ensure safety and compliance with federal, state, and local laws. This role requires 3+ years of EHS program management and related certifications.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in EHS, risk management or closely related field required.
• Bachelor’s degree in EHS, risk management or related field preferred.
• ASP certification preferred.
• CSP/CIH or other EHS certifications highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Execute injury prevention programs to foster a world-class safety culture and minimize injury risk.
• Identify, assess, and control site hazards; support incident investigations with root cause analyses.
• Analyze trends and implement training programs to reduce injury frequency/severity.
• Collaborate with operations, HR, claims, and security to manage EHS resources and projects.
• Contribute to design of standardized safety systems, policies, and training to reduce risk.
• Support environmental compliance and claims programs.
• Build internal and external alliances to develop and implement EHS policies and processes.
• Perform other duties as required.
