Job summary

American Eagle Outfitters, Inc. is seeking a Group Leader support role in the Distribution Center to coordinate workflow and guide Operations Clerks and Merchandisers. You will assist the DC Supervisor to ensure safe, timely and cost-efficient processing and shipping of merchandise.

You will act as a SME across department roles, supervise in the supervisor's absence, and train team members while maintaining high attendance and performance standards.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent and six months previous Distribution Center experience or equivalent experience.
• Ability to perform basic math skills accurately including addition, subtraction, and multiplication.
• Must be able to fill out paperwork and forms neatly and accurately.
• High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
• Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, & planning skills; including verbal/written communication.
• Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team.
• Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
• Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Monitor production activities and, in conjunction with supervisor and/or manager, determine operational needs
• Reporting of production information related to the department
• Assign associates to specific job functions according to production needs
• Provide training & cross-training, in coordination with the Certified Training Lead (CTL), for new and existing employees
• Communicate information to department associates in an appropriate manner in the absence of the DC Supervisor
• Maintain an awareness of associates’ production, quality, safety, and behavior to provide feedback to the department Supervisor
• Resolve minor processing problems; notify and work with the Supervisor as needed
• Must be able to work in all departments performing various functions of the Group Leader position
• Be a ‘Subject Matter Expert’ (SME) on all department roles and tasks
