Job summary

Expeditors is seeking a logistics customer service professional to ensure efficient daily operation of distribution accounts. You will handle orders, generate reports, manage inventory and coordinate invoicing with vendors and customers.

The role requires English fluency, basic MS Office skills, and 6 months to 1 year of related experience or training; hazardous materials certification is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Understanding transportation processes of all models is a plus.
  • Hazardous Materials certification (preferred).
  • Good computer skills including MS Excel and MS Word.
  • Fluent in English.
  • 6 months to 1 year related experience and/or training.
  • Meet company standards of 52 hours training per year, including leadership training.
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management.
  • Positive and willing to help attitude.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Input and process customer orders daily.
  • Provide daily operational reports accurately and timely.
  • Generate paperwork for work orders and post inventory records.
  • Data entry for receiving, order allocation, shipping and inventory management.
  • Rate domestic transportation bills.
  • Trace orders and notify customers of activity.
  • Ensure accurate client and vendor billing.
  • Maintain damage records and backorder logs.
  • Provide documents to warehouse staff for receiving and shipping.
  • Liaise between warehouse, customer accounts, invoicing and credit information.
  • Contribute to strong vendor relationships (trucking companies, etc.).
  • Support miscellaneous projects, filing and research.
  • Compliance with OPS and external regulations or customer policies.
  • Escalate problems to Management when necessary.

Job Description
Scope of Position

To provide an exceptional customer service to customers to ensure efficient daily operation of all distribution accounts.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Daily process and input of all customer orders and distribution accounts.
  • Provide daily operational reports that are accurate and timely.
  • Generate all related paperwork and necessary information required for customer work orders, checks all orders for special requests and posts inventory records.
  • Perform accurate and timely data entry for receiving, order allocation, shipping and inventory management.
  • Rate domestic transportation bills.
  • Trace orders as required and notify customers of activity concerning their order.
  • Ensure accurate and timely client and vendors billing.
  • Maintain damage records and backorder logs.
  • Provide warehouse staff with necessary documents and information needed to complete receiving, and to ship orders.
  • Act as a liaison between the warehouse and the customer in administration of accounts and between the office and customer regarding invoicing and credit information.
  • Contribute to maintain strong relationships with vendors (trucking companies, and others).
  • Provide support with other miscellaneous projects, filing and research
  • Compliance at all times to regulations. This includes internal policies and procedures such as Operational Process Standards (OPS) and external government regulations or customer policies / requirement.
  • Escalation of problems to Management when necessary.
