Job summary

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers concerned with providing work orders & inventory records for distribution accounts.

  • Maintaina productive staff by creating programs for hiring, training and professional development.
  • Applysound communication and motivational techniques in supervising, coaching and disciplining associates
  • Manageassociate performance and recommends promotions, wage increases and terminations.
  • Planstaffing level of distribution warehouse personnel.
  • Assistin preparing work procedures, work schedules, and expedites workflow.
  • Identify with manager, develop, and mentor your No. 2.
Operations
  • Utilize Expeditors proprietary distribution software and coach the team on it's use.
  • Oversee and ensure compliance with Expeditors Operational Process Standards.
  • Day to day supervision to ensure compliance with Federal, Stand and local regulations.
Customer Service

Support the manager and or the sales department where needed:

  • Makeintroductory contact with new accounts and maintain effective relationships with existing accounts.
  • Addressthe more complex and non-routine customer issues and requests related to warehouse operations
  • Coordinatenew accounts, gathering all necessary information and assigning accounts to the warehouse team
  • Auditall new accounts and follow up on responsibilities of the Logistics Coordinator to ensure that customer needs have been met.
Finance
  • Workwith the Distribution Manager to help develop and recommend the annual departmental operating budget, making said budget consistent with the desired customer service levels and necessary equipment upgrades.
  • Interactwith credit and collections personnel regarding payment problems.
Retention
  • Assistin following up on current customers and conducting Quality Management Reviews (QMRs).
  • Directand controlthe release of orders to shipping to ensure timely delivery to customers and meet company efficiency goals.
  • Directs and oversees order processing and ensures that data entries on documents such as delivery orders and inventory reports are accurate and timely.
  • Make recommendation to Senior Management on programs to improve operation of the customer service function.
Documentation/Reporting
  • Trackon-time delivery and other performance measures.
  • Providenecessary reports to management.
  • Gather and analyzedata concerning department operations and customer requirements.
  • Distributereports to various functional areas as required.
Compliance
  • Promote compliance bydiligently following all company policies and regulations and in being the role model of integrity and pride for all employees
  • Proactively communicate with the team to ensure continuous awareness and understanding of policies and regulations.
Systems
  • Develops procedures to ensure the efficient operation and utilization of warehouse equipment.
  • Determines and recommends enhancements for efficient operations
  • Be involved and suggest system/process improvements.

Qualifications
Knowledge
  • Knowledge of customer relationship management software programs.
  • Inventory management, budgeting, and accounting knowledge is required.
  • Expeditors company policies and procedures knowledge.
  • A good understanding of Expeditors’ products, services and systems.
  • Strong market and competition knowledge.
Skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results.
  • Requires direct warehouse-related experience in customer service, with management skills such as planning, supervising, controlling, organizing and staffing. Communication skills are necessary to establish effective working relationships.

Additional Information

Expected base salary: $70,304.00
