Job summary

Canonical is hiring a Software Engineer for Distributed Systems Testing to advance CI pipelines, test automation, and data analytics for cloud orchestration tools across multi-cloud environments. You will test Canonical’s cloud solutions using Juju, Kubernetes, and OpenStack, deploying on AWS and on-premises, and collaborate with a globally distributed team.

The role emphasizes building resilient distributed systems, developing tests and reporting analytics, and contributing to AI/ML pipelines

Qualifications

• Solid background in modern test processes and strategies.
• Experience with Python or Go development.
• Strong object oriented development skills.
• Knowledge of CI tools such as Jenkins, CircleCI, GitHub Actions.

Responsibilities

• Create automated testing approaches and infrastructure for validating reliability, performance, and resilience of cloud orchestration tools and applications.
• Enable engineering teams to develop software with confidence by distributing testing tooling across the company.
• Enhance CI pipelines for deploying and testing Canonical’s cloud native products.
• Deploy, manage, and debug highly distributed systems on clouds and bare metal.
• Monitor and report on automated testing efforts.
• Collaborate daily with a globally distributed team.
