Job summary

Canonical seeks a Senior Software Engineer to drive design, implementation and maintenance of highly concurrent distributed systems. You will collaborate with a global team, mentor peers, and contribute to open source initiatives. The role is globally remote with occasional in-person team sprints and events.

The ideal candidate has strong Go experience, excellent English communication, and a track record in agile environments. Travel up to four times yearly is expected.

Proven track record delivering software in Go.
Experience with highly concurrent distributed systems.
Excellent English communication, written and verbal.
Academic excellence in your educational career.
Experience with agile software development methodologies.

Responsibilities

Own design, delivery, and maintenance of features in a distributed system.
Collaborate with a globally distributed team to align strategy and execution.
Debug issues and contribute to upstream communities.
Mentor colleagues and help grow the engineering team.
Travel 2–4 times per year for internal/external events.
