Job summary

Canonical is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to drive process improvement and team leadership. You will own design and implementation across distributed systems, coach others, and collaborate with teams worldwide on Juju and cloud automation initiatives.

You'll work in a globally remote setup with travel for internal and external events, contributing to an open source ecosystem and ensuring high-quality software delivery in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Proven track record delivering software professionally.
• Hands-on with highly concurrent distributed systems.
• Excellent English communication, written and spoken.
• Academic track record from high school and university preferred.
• Experience with agile software development methodologies.
• Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year.

Responsibilities

• Own design, delivery and support of features in a distributed system.
• Collaborate with a global, distributed team.
• Debug issues and engage with upstream communities.
• Coach and develop junior engineers on the team.
• Contribute to building a high-performing engineering team.
• Travel for internal/external events 2–4 weeks annually.
