Job summary

Canonical is seeking a Software Engineer to contribute to Juju, a large open-source Go project that powers distributed software systems worldwide. This Globally remote role collaborates with distributed teams to design, deliver, and support features for cloud automation and operations at scale.

You will communicate across teams, debug with upstream communities, and travel 2–4 weeks per year for internal and external events.

Qualifications

• Experience developing software using Go.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• An exceptional academic track record from high school and university.
• Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design, delivery, and support of features in a highly concurrent, distributed system.
• Collaborate with a distributed team and engage with upstream communities.
• Debug issues and participate in public discussions with the community.
• Work with engineers across diverse fields and travel 2–4 weeks yearly for events.
