Flagstar Bank in New York, NY is seeking a Special Assets Analyst to join the team handling distressed CRE/multifamily loans and C&I loans. You will support day-to-day oversight, run financial analyses, and assist with reporting and litigation matters to preserve principal and prevent charge-offs.

Responsibilities include re-underwriting credits focusing on liquidity and cash flow, developing models for restructuring, and coordinating with borrowers and counsel to implement workout strategies.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in business/finance required.
• 4+ years in loan workout/special assets field, preferably at an OCC regulated institution.

Responsibilities

• Conduct market research to assist remediation of distressed loans.
• Re-underwrite credits focusing on borrower liquidity, cash flow, and recovery prospects.
• Develop and update financial models for restructuring or loan modification.
• Support workout strategy development and monitoring.
• Prepare detailed credit memos with financial analyses, relationship overview, cash flow, and collateral assessments.
• Review loan bookings and collateral positions.
• Interact with borrowers, advisors, and internal/external counsel.
