Job summary

First Mid Bancshares, Inc. is seeking a Dispute Resolution Specialist I to join the Disputes team. You will process daily reports and support handling a high volume of disputes across debit, ACH, ATM, and Zelle while maintaining accuracy and timeliness.

Responsibilities include learning Regulation E, collaborating with frontline staff, and escalating issues as needed. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Associates degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of banking experience required.
• Regulation E error resolution experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understand dispute tracking software and processes.
• Monitor high volume dispute claims for debit, ACH, ATM, and Zelle.
• Research, resolve and post adjustments within required timeframes.
• Initiate cases and gather evidence throughout the dispute lifecycle.
• Conduct customer interviews to determine liability and risk exposure.
• Support frontline staff and coordinate with other departments.
• Complete incident and daily reconciliation tasks.
• Stay current on fraud trends and participate in training.
