Job summary

RTX Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids is offering a full-time co-op for engineering students to join a team creating displays for commercial and military avionics. You will apply classroom knowledge to real-world design, testing and collaboration with engineers.

You will gain hands-on experience with optics, engineering design, and industry standards in a mentored environment, preparing you for a career in aerospace technology.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
• Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.
• Experience working on collaborative projects and teams.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel)

Responsibilities

• Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, May/June — December.
• Merge theoretical knowledge with practical engineering applications in display development for avionic systems.
• Work with engineers to design and develop displays for commercial and military avionics.
• Tackle challenges and apply problem-solving skills in a hands-on environment.
• Create and/or implement changes to product design or development processes.
