Job summary

MEDLOG USA is seeking a details-oriented dispatcher to coordinate loads with contractors, track deliveries, and keep customers informed. The role requires strong Excel/Outlook skills, clear communication, and the ability to multitask across busy schedules.

Day shift, Monday–Friday, in the New Jersey region. Experience in intermodal or port/drayage is a plus, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and contractor relationships. This position emphasizes growth within a global logistics provider.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Strong communication skills—verbal and written.
• Proficient with Excel and Outlook; solid computer skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus and helps in contractor coordination.

Responsibilities

• Assign loads to contractors promptly and efficiently.
• Inform Customer Service Representatives of developments to keep customers updated.
• Monitor contractors’ Hours of Service to optimize routing and turnaround.
• Update database with route, delivery status, and timestamps.
• Document delays, yard stops, and appointments in the TMS.

Job Description and Responsibilities:

• Assign loads to the contractors in a timely and efficient manner
• Inform our Customer Service Representatives of all developments throughout the day so they can keep our customers updated
• Monitor contractors’ HOS to route and prioritize contractors’ schedules to maximize turnaround
• Update database in a timely manner with appropriate route, delivery status, and time stamps
• Document in our TMS for delays, dry runs, yard stops, missed loads, appointments etc.
• Update contractors with important information about orders, traffic, obstacles, and requirements
• Communicate contractor pay, chassis availability and appointment times
• Track order costs and billing information
• Confirm contractors’ completed delivery information
• Track where empty containers need to go and plan accordingly
• Receive emergency and non-emergency calls and record significant information
• Understand and manage cut-off times for deliveries to ensure proper scheduling
• Willingness and ability to solve contractors’ issues in a timely and professional manner
• Schedule: Monday - Friday; day shift
  

Minimum Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-3 years’ experience in the intermodal industry with port and drayage experience; dispatch preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook as well as overall computer skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
• Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
• Ability to multi-task while maintaining a positive attitude
• Self-Motivated / Detail oriented / Ability to prioritize
