Job summary

MEDLOG USA in Los Angeles is seeking a capable Dispatcher to coordinate intermodal loads and contractor scheduling in a fast-paced environment. You will work across operations to keep shipments flowing smoothly and ensure timely updates for customers.

As part of our team, you will monitor hours of service, maintain accurate TMS records, and communicate with Customer Service to resolve issues quickly. This role emphasizes reliability, efficiency, and a strong service mindset.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years in intermodal industry; dispatch preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel and Outlook; strong computer skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to multi-task with a positive attitude.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize.

Responsibilities

  • Assign loads to contractors in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Inform Customer Service Representatives of developments to keep customers updated.
  • Monitor contractors’ HOS to route and prioritize schedules for maximum turnaround.
  • Update database with route, delivery status, and time stamps.
  • Document in the TMS for delays, yard stops, missed loads, and appointments.
  • Update contractors with information about orders, traffic, obstacles, and requirements.
  • Communicate contractor pay, chassis availability and appointment times.
  • Track order costs and billing information.
  • Confirm contractors’ completed delivery information.
  • Track where empty containers need to go and plan accordingly.
  • Receive emergency and non-emergency calls and record significant information.
  • Understand and manage cut-off times for deliveries to ensure proper scheduling.
  • Willingness and ability to resolve contractor issues professionally.
  • Schedule: M-F- days.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
  • 1-3 years’ experience in the intermodal industry; dispatch preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook as well as overall computer skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Self-Motivated / Detail oriented / Ability to prioritize
