Job summary

Brown & Son Towing is hiring a Tow Dispatcher for the Salem, VA area. You’ll be the first contact for customers, motor clubs, police and fleet accounts, dispatching the right truck and driver to each call while staying calm under pressure.

The role requires experience in towing dispatch, strong communication and multitasking skills, and the ability to work 10pm–6am, Monday through Friday. Full benefits package is provided.

Qualifications

• Dispatch in towing experience required; heavy wrecker towing/transportation a strong plus.
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and stay composed under pressure.
• Good knowledge of local roads and geography; comfortable using multiple screens and systems.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls and take roadside assistance and towing requests from customers and accounts.
• Assign calls to drivers based on location and vehicle type; track in real time.
• Enter and close calls with correct charges, mileage and notes in dispatch software.

Dispatcher - Towing Industry 3rd Shift

Brown & Son Towing is hiring a Tow Dispatcher. You'll be the first contact for customers, motor clubs, police and fleet accounts. You'll send the right truck and driver to every call quickly and safely. Stranded drivers depend on you to stay calm when things get busy.

Key Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls and take roadside assistance and towing requests from customers, police rotation lists, insurance companies and commercial accounts.
• Collect accurate call details: location, vehicle year/make/model, condition, drop-off location and payment method.
• Assign calls to drivers based on location, truck type (light, medium or heavy duty, flatbed, wheel-lift) and availability.
• Track drivers in real time with GPS and dispatch software, and update ETAs for customers and account partners.
• Enter and close out calls in the dispatch system (e.g., Towbook, Omadi, Beacon) with correct charges, mileage and notes.
• Accept, decline and manage digital motor club jobs within required response times.
• Coordinate police-requested tows, impounds, private property tows and vehicle releases, following state and local rules.
• Handle customer questions and complaints professionally, and elevate problems to management when needed.
• Keep in contact with drivers throughout each shift about safety, delays and changes on scene.
• Help with billing records, impound lot inventory and end-of-shift reports as needed.

Qualifications
