Job summary

New England Truck Center is seeking a highly motivated Dispatcher to schedule and dispatch trucks and drivers on real time calls for roadside service assistance, towing, and hauling. The role collaborates with accounts receivable, other dispatchers, outside contractors and drivers to gather information for billing and dispatching purposes.

The position is full time, Monday through Friday with weekend and on-call availability, 8-9 hours per day and potentially into a second shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Experience in road service, towing, or emergency dispatch preferred.
• Strong computer and office skills.

Responsibilities

• Answer all incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate department.
• Coordinate and dispatch multiple drivers and trucks in real time.
• Relay accurate information to drivers and supervisors for billing and dispatching.
• Document and enter dispatch and billing details into TowBook and other data platforms.
• Ensure drivers complete proper paperwork in a timely manner.
• Provide excellent customer service and resolve issues calmly and professionally.
• Assist Dispatch Manager with scheduling and driver coordination.
• Perform additional tasks as needed.

Job description

New England Truck Center is seeking a highly motivatedDispatcher.This role is responsible for scheduling and dispatching trucks and drivers on real time calls for roadside service assistance, towing, and hauling. The Dispatcher will interact and work with accounts receivable, other dispatchers, outside contractors and drivers to gather information for billing and dispatching purposes.

This position is full time, Monday - Friday, weekend and on-call availability, 8-9 hours per day and potentially into a second shift.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Answer all incoming phone calls, direct phone calls to appropriate department.
• Coordinate and dispatch multiple drivers and trucks based on real time call while taking into account many variables.
• Gather pertinent information related to dispatch; quickly and accurately relay that information to drivers and supervisors.
• Document and input details and billing information into TowBook and other data platforms for all dispatched calls.
• Provide accurate and detailed information to drivers as needed.
• Assist Towing Managers/Supervisors with scheduling of drivers.
• Maintain a high level of customer service and ensure customer requests are fulfilled.
• Swiftly, calmly, and professionally rectify customer issues that may arise.
• Ensure all drivers are completing proper paperwork related to dispatch calls in a timely manner.
• Review completed paperwork of all drivers and resolve any issues/discrepancies of paperwork as needed.
• Troubleshooting any potential logistical issues that may arise.
• Perform additional tasks as needed/assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Knowledge of vehicle service and towing systems such as TowBook.
• Ability to operate a phone for long periods of time.

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma.
• Prior road service, towing, or emergency services dispatch experience preferred.
