Job summary

QPS Employment Group is seeking a dispatcher for West Burlington, IA area. Position handles incoming calls, schedules transportation rides, and provides transit information to passengers and the public.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or GED and 1–2 years of related experience, plus strong telephone etiquette and communication skills. Part-time hours typical, with 12:00pm–5:00pm shifts Mon-Fri, and wage range $17.50–$19.00 per hour.

• Maintain accurate records related to passenger trips and transportation schedules.
• Support daily transit operations through administrative and communication activities.
• Utilize computer programs and scheduling systems to manage transportation requests and service information.
• Assist passengers with questions regarding transit services, routes, and scheduling procedures.

Wage: $17.50-$19.00 per hour

Hours: 12:00pm-5:00pm (Mon-Fri)

Dispatcher Responsibilities

Dispatcher Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• One to two years of experience or training in a related field preferred.
• Professional telephone etiquette and customer service skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with passengers, drivers, and the public.
• Ability to schedule rides while actively communicating with passengers by phone.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve scheduling conflicts.
• Basic knowledge of the Southeast Iowa service area, including Des Moines, Henry, Lee, and Louisa counties.
• Ability to learn and use basic computer programs, scheduling software, and office processes.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
