Job summary

On The Go Cargo (OTG Cargo) in Moonachie, NJ seeks an experienced courier/logistics dispatcher with deep knowledge of the NY/NJ/CT Tri-State market and expertise in expedited, NFO and time-critical transportation. This in-office role requires you to coordinate drivers, optimize routes, monitor shipments to airports (EWR/JFK/LGA) and handle time-sensitive medical or life-science logistics.

Remote support may be needed occasionally.

Qualifications

• Local Northern New Jersey resident available to work in Moonachie, NJ.
• Experience as courier, messenger, expedited transportation or logistics dispatcher.
• Strong knowledge of Tri-State dispatching and geography.
• Experience supporting NFO/expedited companies as a local agent.
• Airport cargo experience with EWR/JFK/LGA is highly desirable.
• Medical, pharmaceutical or life-science logistics experience is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple urgent jobs and communicate clearly.
• Schedule flexibility for shift coverage when needed.

Responsibilities

Job description

On The Go Cargo (OTG Cargo) is looking for an experienced courier/logistics dispatcher with strong knowledge of the NY/NJ/CT Tri-State market and an understanding of expedited, NFO and time-critical transportation.

This is primarily an in-office position at our Moonachie, NJ operations center, so we are specifically looking for candidates who live locally in Northern New Jersey. However, flexibility is important. At times, dispatchers may be asked to help cover shifts remotely when needed.

Our operation combines two worlds: we serve as a local pickup and delivery agent for expedited/NFO logistics companies nationwide, while also providing on-demand, scheduled and expedited courier services to our own Tri-State client base.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Dispatch time-critical pickups and deliveries throughout the NY/NJ/CT Tri-State area
• Coordinate drivers and make intelligent routing decisions based on traffic, geography, timing and customer requirements
• Support national expedited and NFO partners with first/last-mile service, airport recoveries and tenders, shipment monitoring and status updates
• Coordinate service involving EWR, JFK and LGA
• Handle urgent medical, pharmaceutical, life-science, airfreight and other time-sensitive shipments
• Communicate proactively with customers, drivers, airports and logistics partners from pickup through final delivery
• Manage exceptions, delays and changing priorities in real time
• Maintain accurate PODs, shipment documentation, chain-of-custody information and special handling instructions
• Help cover operations remotely when necessary

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Local Northern New Jersey resident able to work in Moonachie, NJ
• Prior courier, messenger, expedited transportation or logistics dispatch experience
• Strong working knowledge of Tri-State dispatching and geography
• Experience supporting NFO/expedited companies as a local agent is a major plus
• Airport cargo and EWR/JFK/LGA experience is highly desirable
• Medical, pharmaceutical or life-science logistics experience is a plus
• TSA/STA air cargo experience is a plus
• Ability to manage multiple urgent jobs while staying organized and communicating clearly
• Schedule flexibility and willingness to assist with shift coverage when needed

We're looking for someone who understands that successful expedited dispatching is more than assigning a driver. You need to know the market, anticipate problems, communicate constantly and find solutions when the original plan changes.
