Job summary

White Cap in Birmingham, Alabama, is seeking a Dispatch Manager to lead and optimize delivery operations. You will supervise Delivery Drivers and Dispatchers, ensure on-time and safe deliveries, and coordinate with Warehouse and Sales teams to resolve issues and improve service levels.

The role requires 7+ years in dispatch or related leadership, experience with routing software, and knowledge of DOT regulations and driver safety programs.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of experience in dispatch or delivery leadership.
• Prior supervisory experience in a logistics environment.
• Experience with routing software and route optimization.

Responsibilities

• Manages, recruits, and hires all Delivery Drivers and Dispatchers.
• Ensures delivery trucks are loaded and operated in compliance with all safety standards.
• Ensures Drivers are routed effectively to meet planned and unplanned delivery commitments.
• Ensures vehicle fleet is properly maintained.
• Minimizes turn-around times through direct supervision of Drivers.
• Works with Warehouse Manager to ensure integration of Delivery and Warehouse operations and inventory controls.
• Works closely with Inside Sales and Account Managers to resolve delivery issues and reroute trucks.
• Develops and maintains knowledge of the branch delivery area geography.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Typically 7+ years of experience.
