Job summary

White Cap is hiring a Dispatch Manager to lead and grow our delivery operations in the Birmingham, AL region. You will manage drivers and dispatchers, ensure safe, on-time deliveries, and coordinate closely with warehousing and sales to handle routing and inventory planning.

Applicants should bring supervisory experience, familiarity with routing software, and knowledge of DOT regulations and driver safety programs. This role supports a growing national distributor of construction materials.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising drivers and dispatchers.
• Experience with routing software.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and driver safety programs.

Responsibilities

• Manages, recruits, and hires all Delivery Drivers and Dispatchers.
• Ensures delivery trucks are loaded and operated in compliance with all safety standards.
• Ensures Drivers are routed effectively to meet planned and unplanned delivery commitments.
• Ensures vehicle fleet is properly maintained.
• Minimizes turn-around times through direct supervision of Drivers.
• Works with Warehouse Manager to ensure seamless integration of Delivery and Warehouse operations and proper inventory controls.
• Works closely with Inside Sales and Account Managers to resolve delivery issues, reroute trucks and make unplanned vendor pickups.
• Develops and maintains expert knowledge of the branch delivery area geography.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

A Dispatch Manager at White Cap…
