Job summary

Food Safety Net Services, part of the Certified Group, seeks a Dispatcher/Logistics Lead in Melville, NY to coordinate driver dispatch, monitor shipments, and ensure timely delivery while complying with safety and regulatory standards. You will partner with drivers, warehouse staff, and customers to resolve issues and optimize routes for cost efficiency.

The role requires high school diploma (associates preferred), experience with TMS and routing software, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred
• Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and routing software
• Experience in fast-paced dispatch or transportation coordination
• Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards within the United States
• Proficiency in using dispatch software and GPS tracking systems
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills, with the ability to provide clear, concise instructions
• Technical Proficiency: Ability to effectively operate through email, mapping software, and computer systems (data entry)
• Multitasking: Ability to prioritize high-volume tasks and make adjustments to schedules as needed

Responsibilities

• Schedule and dispatch drivers and vehicles to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods
• Monitor the progress of shipments and communicate proactively with drivers and customers regarding any delays or issues
• Coordinate with warehouse staff to manage loading and unloading schedules and inventory availability
• Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, driver logs, and shipment details in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
• Resolve logistical problems such as route changes, vehicle breakdowns, or delivery discrepancies, service interruptions, and unexpected issues, acting as the liaison between field units and customers/supervisors promptly and effectively
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards during all phases of transportation
• Collaborate with other departments to improve logistics processes and enhance overall operational efficiency
