Job summary

Zuma Restaurants is seeking a ZumaSteward/Dishwasher to maintain cleanliness in our kitchen and dining areas, supporting a fast-paced Izakaya-inspired dining concept across North America. You will wash dishes, operate equipment safely, and help with general cleaning while upholding sanitation standards.

The role emphasizes teamwork, flexibility in hours including evenings and holidays, and a commitment to guest satisfaction in a world-class hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated interest in culinary experiences and Japanese cuisine.
• Strong team collaboration and ability to work with a large team.
• Friendly, customer-oriented demeanor with focus on guest experience.
• Previous kitchen experience in a high-volume restaurant preferred.
• Basic knowledge of kitchen sanitation and safety procedures.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, and cooking utensils using dishwashing machines or by hand, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation standards are met
• Operate dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently, following manufacturer instructions and guidelines
• Empty trash bins and dispose of waste in designated areas, maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in kitchen and dining areas
• Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, equipment, and storage areas according to established procedures and schedules
• Assist with general cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and wiping down surfaces in kitchen and dining areas
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of dishwashing and storage areas, ensuring supplies are properly stocked and organized
