Job summary

ExplorUS in Seal Harbor, Maine is seeking a Dishwasher to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment in line with company procedures. You will keep the dish-room and equipment organized while supporting back-of-house staff.

The role requires the ability to follow directions, work varied shifts including weekends/holidays, and to lift up to 50 lbs. Prior experience is not required; ServSafe or equivalent certification may be required by policy.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to dishwashing procedures to ensure cleaning, sanitizing and storing dishware and utensils.
• Work closely with back of house kitchen staff to ensure timely, safe and efficient cleaning of kitchenware.
• Organize items as they are cleaned and restock storage areas.
• Maintain cleanliness of work station, kitchen and food storage areas.
• Complete daily and weekly cleaning assignments and respond to guest questions.
• Follow health and safety manuals and proper use/storage of cleaning chemicals.
• Understand ISO environmental/quality policies and meet responsibilities within these areas.
• Work as a busser when not scheduled in the kitchen.
• Other duties as requested.

Provide a clean and safe kitchen area, according to Company procedures, keeping the dish-room and equipment clean and organized at all times.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to the Company’s dishwashing procedures to ensure that all expectations regarding the cleaning, sanitizing and storing of dishware and utensils are met
• Work closely as a team with back of house kitchen staff to ensure that all kitchenware is cleaned in a timely, safe and efficient manner
• Organize items as they are cleaned, restock areas where items are stored
• Maintain cleanliness of work station, kitchen and food storage areas
• Complete daily and weekly cleaning assignments with a variety of guest questions and requests
• Follow all procedures outlined in department and health and safety manuals in accordance with company policies and follow proper use and storage of chemicals used to clean kitchen items
• Understand Company ISO (Environmental & Quality) management systems, policies, goals, and initiatives and meet the specific responsibilities within these areas
• Work as a busser, assuming all duties of that position, when not otherwise scheduled in the kitchen
• Other duties per Duties Checklist and as requested

Position Requirements

• Ability to take direction and change tasks quickly
• Must be able to work a variety of day, night, weekend, holiday shifts
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with many personality types
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. and carry up to 25lbs.
• Majority of shift spent on feet in a fast-paced environment, in close proximity to other people
