Job summary

Big Whiskey's American Restaurant & Bar is seeking an energetic dishwasher to wash and clean tableware, pots, pans, and cooking equipment. You will keep the dish room and equipment clean and organized, supporting a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Responsibilities include operating the dish machine, maintaining sanitation, monitoring water temperature, and ensuring a steady supply of clean dishware for service. No prior restaurant experience is required, and flexibility is valued.

Qualifications

• No previous restaurant experience required.
• Able to work in a hot, wet, humid and loud environment for long periods.
• Physically able to lift, reach, bend and stoop; stand for long periods (up to 5 hours).
• Ability to safely lift bags, cases, and stacks up to 60 pounds up to 30 times per shift.

Responsibilities

• Load, run, and unload dish machine.
• Keep the dish machine clean and report any problems immediately.
• Monitor water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycle.
• Wash and store tableware and kitchenware.
• Keep dish room clean and organized.
• Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and kitchen.
• Perform trash audits every 15 minutes.
• Bag and haul dish room trash to dumpster as needed.
• Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage.
• Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies.
• Clean food prep and production areas as required.
• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure smooth restaurant operation.
• Help with light prep and portioning.

• Keep the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems immediately
• Monitor dish machine's water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycle
• Wash and store tableware and kitchenware
• Keep dish room clean and organized
• Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for the dining room and kitchen
• Preform trash audits every 15 minutes
• Bag and haul dish room trash to dumpster at appropriate times
• Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss
• Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies
• Clean food preparation and production areas as required
• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor
• Help with light prep and portioning
