Job summary

Big Whiskey's American Restaurant & Bar is seeking a dishwasher to support daily dining room operations. Responsibilities include operating the dish machine, loading and unloading ware, and keeping the dish area clean and organized.

The role is suitable for candidates with no prior restaurant experience and requires the ability to work in a hot, humid environment for extended periods. Physical tasks include lifting up to 60 pounds and standing for long periods.

Qualifications

• No prior restaurant experience required.
• Able to work in a hot, wet, humid, and loud environment for long periods.
• Physically capable of lifting, reaching, bending and stooping.
• Able to stand for extended periods (up to 5 hours).
• Capable of safely lifting bags, cases, and stacks up to 60 pounds multiple times per shift.

Responsibilities

• Load, run, and unload the dish machine.
• Keep the dish machine and surrounding area clean and organized.
• Monitor water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycles.
• Wash and store tableware and kitchenware.
• Maintain clean dish room and equipment storage.
• Ensure adequate supply of clean dishware for dining room and kitchen.
• Perform light prep and portioning as directed by supervisor.
• Be available to fill in as needed to maintain smooth operations.

Summary of Position

Wash and clean tableware, pots, pans, and cooking equipment. Keep the dish room and equipment clean and organized.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Load, run, and unload dish machine
• Keep the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems immediately
• Monitor dish machine's water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycle
• Wash and store tableware and kitchenware
• Keep dish room clean and organized
• Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for the dining room and kitchen
• Preform trash audits every 15 minutes
• Bag and haul dish room trash to dumpster at appropriate times
• Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss
• Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies
• Clean food preparation and production areas as required
• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor
• Help with light prep and portioning
