Job summary

Big Whiskey's American Restaurant & Bar is hiring a dishwashing/utility role. You will wash and clean tableware, pots, pans, and cooking equipment and maintain a clean dish room and organized gear.

Responsibilities include operating the dish machine, monitoring water temperatures for sanitary cycles, restocking, and assisting with light prep as needed. No restaurant experience required; candidates should be able to work in a loud, hot environment and lift up to 60 pounds.

Qualifications

• No previous restaurant experience required.
• Able to work in a hot, wet, humid and loud environment for long periods of time.
• Physically able to lift, reach, bend and stoop.
• Stand for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
• Able to lift bags, cases, and stacks up to 60 pounds up to 30 times per shift.

Responsibilities

• Load, run, and unload dish machine.
• Keep dish machine clean and report any problems.
• Monitor dish machine water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycle.
• Wash and store tableware and kitchenware.
• Keep dish room clean and organized.
• Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and kitchen.
• Perform trash audits every 15 minutes.
• Bag and haul dish room trash to dumpster as needed.
• Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss.
• Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies.
• Clean food prep and production areas as required.
• Fill in as needed to ensure smooth operation per supervisor.
• Help with light prep and portioning.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Load, run, and unload dish machine


• Keep the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems immediately


• Monitor dish machine’s water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycle


• Wash and store tableware and kitchenware


• Keep dish room clean and organized


• Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for the dining room and kitchen


• Preform trash audits every 15 minutes


• Bag and haul dish room trash to dumpster at appropriate times


• Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss


• Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies


• Clean food preparation and production areas as required


• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor


• Help with light prep and portioning
