Job summary

The Neighborhood at Vestavia Hills, part of Phoenix Senior Living, seeks a Dishwasher in Birmingham, AL to support dining services by cleaning and sanitizing dishes, pots, and cookware to maintain a safe kitchen environment.

Responsibilities include ware washing, operating dish machines, maintaining wash areas, and washing production equipment such as stoves, ovens, fryers, microwaves, mixers, slicers, refrigerators, and prep surfaces.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ware washing and dish area setup to ensure smooth service.
• Operate dish machine and sanitize all dishes and cookware.
• Maintain pot and pan sink according to standards.
• Wash and sanitize production equipment (stoves, ovens, fryers, microwaves, mixers, slicers, surfaces).
• Follow Food Safety Standards and rotate stored food as required.

The Neighborhood at Vestavia Hills is seeking a Dishwasher to join their team!

Shift Details: as assigned

Mon- Fri ; Every other weekend required

The Dishwasher reports directly to the Food and Beverage Director.

PURPOSE

The Dishwasher is responsible for performing various kitchen cleaning and storage activities such as but not limited to dish washing, pot washing, general and equipment cleaning, storage and rotation of food and supplies. Responsible for janitorial duties in various dining services areas such as Dining Room, Bistro and other areas associated as a Dining Activity.

Responsible for handling all foods, storage and cleaning activities in accordance with sanitary procedures and standards and complies with all federal, state and local regulatory procedures regarding food storage, cleaning and preparation.

Principle Duties And Responsibilities

Ware Washing

Responsible for the set-up and maintenance of the dish and pot washing area

Operates dish machine(s) according to Food Safety Standards

Operates dishwashing to properly wash and sanitize all dishes and china, silverware, glassware, utensils and cookware

Responsible for the set up and maintenance of the pot and pan sink according to Food Safety Standards

Production Equipment Washing

• Clean large and small production equipment as directed such as but not limited to:
• Stoves
• Ovens
• Fryers
• Microwaves
• Mixers
• Slicers
• Refrigerator
• Freezers
• Work tables
• Prep sinks
• Hoods and ventilation screens

Education/Experience/Licensure- Certification

Education: High School Diploma/ GED required

One (1) year job related experience
