Job Summary

Maintain dishes, pots, pans, trays, kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in an orderly and sanitary condition.

Position Details

We are hiring immediately for full‑time and part‑time DISHWASHER positions at UAB St Vincents – 50 Medical Park Drive East, Birmingham, AL 35235. Online applications are accepted only. The schedule is full‑time and part‑time; Sunday through Saturday, hours may vary. Preference for previous dishwashing experience. Pay range: $14.00 to $15.50 per hour.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Scrape and rinse food from dirty dishes, wash them by hand or place them in racks or on a conveyor to a dishwashing machine depending on assigned equipment. Ensure complete cleanliness and sanitation.
• Wash pots, pans, and trays according to assigned procedures, ensuring complete cleanliness and sanitation.
• Polish silver using a burnishing machine tumbler, chemical dip, buffing wheel, or hand cloth depending on equipment and procedures; ensure complete cleanliness and sanitation.
• Ensure compliance with outlined safety procedures.
• Maintain temperatures and chemical levels as outlined by provided standards.
• Keep the dish area orderly and in compliance with safety standards.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
• Wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food prep surfaces.
• Remove trash and place it in designated containers; steam clean or hose out garbage cans.
• Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
• Help load and unload supplies and product.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
