Job summary

Yale New Haven Health is seeking a Patient Care Associate at Bridgeport Hospital to support direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of the nursing team. Duties include maintaining patient safety, assisting in bedside care, and ensuring accurate medication delivery within the unit.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, CNA/EMT/MA training or clinical nursing experience, and current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CNA, EMT, or MA program completion or clinical rotations in nursing program is acceptable.
• BLS CPR training required before employment or within the first month.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English proficiently.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care under RN supervision.
• Obtain and record vital signs as delegated by the RN.
• Deliver medications from pneumatic tube to the nurse/physician or other licensed practitioner.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to meet patient and family needs.
• Relocate and rotate to meet patient care needs.
• Complete non-therapeutic functions as directed by MD/PA/APRN/RN.
