Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field preferred; advanced education desirable.
• Relevant experience in social work, human services, disaster response or service-system coordination preferred.
• Must complete organization screening, background checks, credentialing, cybersecurity/privacy training before access to systems.
• Ability to travel nationwide and deploy within contract timeframes, including the 48-hour surge.
• Driver’s license with clear record; daily use of a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Deploy as a member of Disaster Human Services Impact Assessment teams and support field assessment activities in disaster impacted jurisdictions identified.
• Assess and document operational impacts that may reduce, interrupt, or prevent access to human services.
• Explain how observed disaster conditions may affect providers and the populations they serve.
• Identify and document service-access impacts across child care, welfare, aging, homelessness, and other critical services.
• Conduct interviews and gather information from providers, officials, partners, and other sources using approved protocols.
• Document observations and impacts in designated systems of record and maintain notes and reports.
• Coordinate with civil engineers regarding observed facility conditions without making engineering judgments.
• Assist the team in identifying service gaps and recovery considerations for providers and communities.
• Support development of assessment summaries, briefings, and reports for partners.
• Provide social work, crisis-support, resource navigation, or referral assistance as scoped.
