Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking an experienced Cost Estimator to support FEMA Public Assistance and other disaster recovery programs. You will develop defensible cost estimates for infrastructure restoration, emergency work, and permanent work, including labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor costs.

Assignments may be remote, field-based, or hybrid depending on client needs, with travel as required and an on-call cadence to support disaster response.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in construction estimating or related discipline.
• Experience developing conceptual, parametric, and detailed cost estimates.
• Experience estimating labor, equipment, material, and construction costs.
• Familiarity with modern construction practices and project scope development.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support FEMA Public Assistance and other disaster recovery programs through estimating activities.
• Prepare cost estimates for disaster recovery projects including labor, materials, and equipment.
• Develop and validate project scopes and eligibility determinations.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, contractors, and program staff.
• Maintain clear, defensible estimate documentation suitable for audits.
