Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking an experienced Cost Estimator to support FEMA Public Assistance and disaster recovery programs. You will develop accurate cost estimates for infrastructure restoration, emergency work, and permanent work, while evaluating damaged facilities and preparing documentation for funding determinations.

This on-call, as-needed role may involve remote, field-based, or hybrid assignments, with travel as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in construction estimating or related discipline.
• Experience estimating labor, equipment, material, and construction costs.
• Familiarity with modern construction practices, facility assessments, and project scope development.

Responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual, parametric, and detailed bottom-up cost estimates for disaster recovery projects.
• Develop labor, equipment, materials, subcontractor, and general conditions cost estimates.
• Review engineering reports, plans, and cost documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Apply knowledge of construction standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, contractors, and program staff to define eligible work and project requirements.
• Develop estimate documentation that is clear, defensible, and auditable.
