Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking an experienced Cost Estimator to support FEMA Public Assistance and disaster recovery programs by preparing accurate, defendable cost estimates for infrastructure restoration and emergency work. You will validate scopes, support funding determinations, and ensure audit-ready documentation.

This on-call cadre role may be remote, field-based, or hybrid, with assignments across disaster-recovery operations in the United States.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience in construction estimating or related discipline.
• Experience developing conceptual, parametric, and detailed cost estimates for infrastructure or facilities.
• Experience estimating labor, equipment, materials, and construction costs.
• Familiarity with modern construction practices, project scope development, and inspection activities.
• Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficient with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Project scoping and damage assessment for disaster recovery programs.
• Prepare conceptual, parametric, and bottom-up cost estimates.
• Review engineering reports, plans, and cost documentation for compliance.
• Support program delivery through cost validation and documentation reviews.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, grant professionals, and construction experts.
