Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking experienced Cost Estimators to support our Disaster Recovery Cadre across the United States. You will analyze damaged infrastructure, develop cost estimates, and support eligibility determinations for public facilities and infrastructure projects in FEMA-related programs.

This on-call, as-needed role may be remote, field-based, or hybrid depending on client needs and project scope. Candidates with 2+ years in construction estimating and PE/CCP credentials are encouraged to

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in construction estimating, engineering, architecture, construction management, infrastructure planning, or related discipline.
• Experience developing conceptual, parametric, and detailed cost estimates for infrastructure or facility projects.
• Experience estimating labor, equipment, material, and construction costs.
• Familiarity with modern construction practices, facility assessments, project scope development, and construction inspection activities.
• Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
• Ability to travel as needed for field assignments.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Support FEMA Public Assistance and disaster recovery programs through project scoping and cost estimating.
• Maintain documentation and ensure estimates are clear and defensible for audits.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, contractors, and program staff to define eligible work.
• Develop bottom-up cost estimates, including labor, equipment, materials, and general conditions.
• Assist with cost validation and reasonableness determinations for project proposals.
