Job summary

ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company seeks a Disaster Recovery Specialist to lead DR planning, risk assessments, and regular testing for mission-critical systems in a highly regulated federal environment.

The role coordinates with IT and business stakeholders to improve preparedness, document lessons learned, and ensure teams understand DR procedures and roles before, during, and after disruptions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 4–7 years of experience in disaster recovery, business continuity, IT operations, or related resilience functions.
• Understanding of disaster recovery principles, frameworks, and best practices with DR plans, risk assessments, and testing.
• Active SECRET security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain required clearance.
• U.S. citizenship required for federal contracting environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans, runbooks, and playbooks with defined RTO/RPO and communication protocols.
• Conduct risk assessments and BIA to identify critical systems and dependencies.
• Coordinate and execute structured disaster recovery testing program including tabletop and full failover events.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, application, network, and security teams to ensure backups and HA meet objectives and compliance.
• Monitor changes to IT environment to keep DR docs and inventories current.
